Abrasive Wheels
The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations require that those using abrasive wheels (including petrol driven and electrical powered disc cutters and angle grinders) have training in the specific hazards associated with this machinery.
The Abrasive Wheels course covers the serious risks concerned with this type of equipment. Delegates will gain insight into safe and unsafe methods of work, whilst learning about the consequences of accidents related to these tools.
The course highlights the importance of setting up machines correctly and makes delegates aware of best practice for selection, storage and marking of discs.
Training also gives delegates an understanding of the long-term health effects of noise, vibration and dust inhalation, whilst specifying the protective equipment required when using abrasive wheels and showing delegates how to use dust suppression equipment.
There will be a multiple-choice test and a practical exercise at the end of the course.
We require that delegates wear sensible clothing and bring safety boots with them. HCS Safety will supply additional PPE required for the test.
