The NEBOSH National Diploma is the globally recognised qualification for health and safety professionals. It is designed to provide students with the expertise required to undertake a career as a safety and health practitioner and also provides a sound basis for progression to postgraduate study.
When it comes to senior health and safety positions, the NEBOSH National Diploma is highly sought after by employers. It is recognised by IOSH – the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health – as fulfilling the academic requirements for Graduate Membership (GradIOSH), which can lead to the awarding of the title of Chartered Safety and Health Practitioner.
This highly respected degree level course will require a high level of commitment and private study but the rewards will be well worth the effort.

Unit B – Hazardous Agents in the Workplace

B2 Identification, assessment and evaluation of hazardous substances
B3 The control of hazardous substances
B4 The monitoring and measuring of hazardous substances
B5 Biological Agents
B6 Noise and Vibration
B7 Radiation
B8 Mental ill health and dealing with violence and aggression at work
B9 Musculoskeletal risks and controls
B10 Work Environment Risks and Controls
Unit C – Workplace and Work Equipment Safety
Day release – Fridays starting 2nd October 2020; 1st October 2021

C2 Principles of fire and explosion
C3 Workplace fire risk assessment
C4 Storage, handling and processing of dangerous substances
C5 Work equipment (general)
C6 Work equipment (workplace machinery)
C7 Work equipment (mobile, lifting and access)
C8 Electrical Safety and Electricity at Work Regulations
C9 Construction hazards and controls
C10 Workplace transport and driving for work
Unit D Workplace-based assignment
Unit D is a workplace-based assignment requiring application of learning across the syllabus

There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification, however students should consider that this is professional level qualification, equivalent to SCQF Level 10. Achievement of the NEBOSH National General Certificate, or direct equivalent, prior to undertaking the Diploma course is highly recommended.
It is also vital that students have an appropriate standard of English language in order to understand and articulate the concepts contained in the syllabus.
For this qualification you should plan your study around a minimum of 243 taught hours and approximately 257 hours of private study.
