IOSH Leading Safely (formerly IOSH Directing Safely)
The IOSH Leading Safely course is designed for the directors and other senior decision makers in small to mid-sized companies which employ fewer than 250 workers. The training is relevant to all organisations in both the private and public sector.
This important health and safety course is designed to provide senior staff with a comprehension and appreciation for health and safety practices in the workplace.
Participants in the course will come away with an understanding of their legal and moral duty to protect the health and safety of all employees. They will also gain the skills required to create and implement a strong and comprehensive health and safety strategy which will benefit the whole organisation.
IOSH Leading Safely provides an overview of the business case for health and safety, and also outlines the applicable legal obligations in the UK. It is relevant for all directors and senior executives across all industries and organisations.
Accidents and ill health cost the UK economy dearly. Businesses who manage their safety well will see benefits in improved wellbeing of staff, less sickness absence, fewer incidents and of course, a reduced threat of litigation or prosecution. The business case for health and safety is well established and so managing risk efficiently from the top of the organisation down is an essential and integral part of good business practice.
