Who should attend the course?

Recognised across the construction industry as the definitive training for site managers, contract managers and senior foremen, the course is tailored for those who need a firm awareness of the safety and health issues that affect one of the UK’s most dangerous industries.

The course also provides an excellent opportunity to meet and share experiences with others in the industry.

What does the course cover?

Delegates on the SMSTS course will learn about criminal and civil law, risk assessment principles, the CDM Regulations and hazardous works such as work at height, excavations and confined spaces.

The course also covers health issues, including COSHH, noise and vibration and even looks at some safety psychology, accident theory and management systems.

Attendance on this essential course will ensure that site managers feel confident in their duties and responsibilities in ensuring health, safety and welfare on site.

Delegates will be provided with the GE700 and XA6 publications from the CITB.

Assessing learning outcomes

There are 4 assessed assignments to be completed during the course in addition to a multiple-choice test to evaluate delegates’ learning.
